The Torres del Paine National Park is located in Chilean Patagonia and is the most spectacular natural sight in the south of Chile. It can only be accessed through Calafate in Argentina (245 miles) or Puerto Natales in Chile (91 miles). Every morning during the summer months, and a few times a week during the rest of the year, vans and buses take visitors from Puerto Natales and Calafate to the park. The best time to visit is between January and April.

The park possesses a great variety of natural beauty: mountains, valleys, glaciers, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and the impressive geological structure of the Paine massif and its towers. The wide variety of vegetable and animal species, together with the majestic scenery, makes the area ideal for trekking.
Excursions tend to start very early in the day. There are many paths along the park that take visitors to the most beautiful places. You can contract trekking excursions of different durations and difficulty.

The most famous path is the one that takes you to the feet of Torres del Paine. The outward journey lasts 3 hours and the return journey is an additional 3 hours. It is very much well worth it. It is necessary to be prepared with the necessary equipment, lots of desire to walk and a camera.

For those with a greater sense of adventure, there are excursions that last 4-10 days and include camping. Those who make the effort to walk the paths are rewarded with magnificent scenery full of snowy peaks, turquoise lakes and lush valleys. The paths are bordered by thousands of flowers.
Besides walking along its paths, it is possible to take excursions on horseback guided by cowboys, navigate the lakes in order to see the Grey and Serrano glaciers up close or take a drive by Lake Grey, Lake Pehoe, the Towers and the Serrano River.
