A visit to Tigre and Delta del Paraná are must-do excursions to take from the capital of Argentina.
A stroll through Tigre involves a walk through the Paseo Victoria, a wooded promenade lined with traditional rowing clubs, historic buildings, restaurants and grills for outdoor lunches. A visit to the traditional Fruit Market is also a must. Here you will not only find classic fruit, vegetable and basket stands, but also modern décor and design shops selling cutting-edge articles with a similar style to Palermo Soho.
In Delta, brownish toned rivers and streams run between islands covered in ceibas, reeds, willows, poplars and fruit trees. In certain parts of the delta there is intense traffic: catamarans, boats transporting merchandise for islanders, sailboats, luxury yachts, fishing boats, collective boats, kayaks and small canoes crossing the waters. On the islands you will see typical houses built on stilts, some centuries old, others more modern. Many of them are ideal places to spend the day or night and here you can also enjoy a delicious meal at a “fashion” restaurant.
If you would like to tour the recesses of the river there are several options: catamaran rides (without stops and often include meals), taxi boats (for small groups) or collective boats (cheaper than the above).
